National Museum
Establish in 1778 by U.M.C Rademacher under the auspices of the Batavia Association of Arts and Sciences, Jakarta's Central Museum has a vast collection of historical, archaelogical and ethnographic aspects on Indonesia. The museum also has one of the most complete collections of bronzes and ceramic dating back to the Hang, Tang, and Ming Dynasties. The Museum is populary known as Museum Gajah because of the Elephant Stone on the front lawn of the building.
